Domain and DNS Terms
Registration, renewal, transfer and technical administration of domain names. Questions to legal@valtriom.com.

How registration works
Valtriom manages domain registration through an ICANN-accredited registrar and administers DNS zones through a specialized platform. The Customer is listed as the domain holder; Valtriom acts as manager.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the registration, renewal, transfer and technical administration of domain names contracted through Valtriom, as well as the management of the associated DNS zones.
2. Relationship between the parties
Registering a domain creates two distinct relationships: the one the Customer maintains with Valtriom for management of the service, and the one established with the accredited registrar and the top-level domain operator, subject to the policies of ICANN and of the operator itself.
The Customer agrees to be bound by the registrar's and ICANN's policies applicable to the contracted domain, the content of which may change without Valtriom's involvement.
3. Name availability
Requesting a domain does not guarantee obtaining it. Assignment depends on availability at the time of processing and on the rules of the corresponding operator. If the registration cannot be completed, Valtriom will refund the amount paid.
Valtriom does not verify whether the requested name infringes third-party rights. That check is the Customer's responsibility before requesting registration.
4. Registrant data
The Customer must provide truthful, complete and current ownership and contact data, and update it when it changes. This is a requirement of ICANN policies, not an administrative formality.
Failure to verify the contact email within the period established by the current policy, or the discovery of false data, may result in suspension of the domain by the registrar. Valtriom will forward to the Customer any verification request it receives, but cannot respond to it on the Customer's behalf.
5. Term and renewal
The domain is registered for the contracted period and does not renew automatically unless the Customer has expressly enabled it. Valtriom will send notice of the approaching expiration to the registered contact address.
Expiration without renewal triggers the grace and redemption periods established by the operator's policy. During redemption, restoring the domain usually carries an additional fee set by the operator. Once those periods have elapsed, the domain is released and becomes available to third parties.
The loss of a domain due to failure to renew on time cannot be reversed by Valtriom.
6. Transfers
The Customer may transfer its domain to another provider at any time, unless an applicable lock exists under the current policy, such as the one that applies after a recent registration or after a change of ownership.
To transfer, the domain must be unlocked and the Customer must have the authorization code, which Valtriom will provide at the holder's request. Valtriom does not withhold domains or make their release conditional on payment of charges unrelated to the domain itself.
7. DNS zone management
DNS zones are administered on a specialized third-party platform. Valtriom configures the records needed for the contracted services to work and may grant the Customer access to manage its zone.
Changes to DNS records may take time to propagate across the Internet. Propagation times depend on the configuration of each zone and on intermediate servers, and are beyond Valtriom's control.
Changes the Customer makes directly to its zone are its own responsibility, including those that affect the availability of its own services.
8. Domain name disputes
Disputes over alleged infringement of trademarks or other rights are resolved through the dispute resolution procedures ICANN establishes for the corresponding top-level domain.
Valtriom is not a party to those procedures and will limit itself to carrying out the decisions communicated to it by the registrar or the competent authority.
9. Suspension and lock
The registrar, the domain operator or the competent authority may suspend or lock a domain for breach of their policies, for inaccurate data or as a result of a dispute procedure. Valtriom will inform the Customer of any such measure as soon as it becomes aware of it.
10. Price and billing
The domain price corresponds to the contracted period and is billed in advance. Registration and renewal prices are set by the operators of each extension and may vary between periods; Valtriom will communicate any change before renewal.
11. Liability
Valtriom is liable for the proper handling of the requests it processes. It is not liable for the loss of domains resulting from outdated contact data, from the Customer's failure to respond to verification requests, or from failure to renew on time when the notice was sent to the registered address.
